Peasant weeks and alpine pastures

The peasant weeks and alpine pastures in the Alpine world Karwendel take place in September and October. Tracht, music and culinary specialties from Oberbayern then convey a lot of Bavarian lifestyle.

Goats, sheep and cows come home from summer pastures at the beginning of the autumn. The shepherds drive the cows through the villages in the Krün and Mittenwald pastures. During the subsequent alpine festivals there is always a lively celebration with alpine horns, goasl schnapps and shoe slippers.

Delicious from Oberbayern can be found at the Schmankerlwochen in Wallgau and on the farmers' markets.

The dates:

Start of the peasant weeks: September 02, 2017
Goat farming in Mittenwald: 02.09.2017
